About the IPA
The International Phalaenopsis Alliance is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. The IPA was formed in 1990 to promote the appreciation, cultivation and conservation of Phalaenopsis orchids through fellowship, symposiums, education and the publication of our digital quarterly magazine, ‘Phalaenopsis’.
IPA's Mission is to:
- Publish ‘Phalaenopsis’, a quarterly electronic magazizne featuring color photography including articles on new lines of breeding, cultural techniques and other subjects of interest to Phalaenopsis growers.

- Stage an annual symposium at various locations around the world filled wtih workshops and lectures from the foremost Phalenopsis growers and hybridizers.
- Bring together phalaenopsis growers worldwide to share and to promote our passion for Phalaenopsis orchids.
- Host ‘Public’ and ‘Members Only’ FaceBook discussion pages for our members and the public to communicate about Phalaenopsis and orchid growing.
- Maintain a Business Directory of IPA Members.
- Sponsor Phalaenopsis related projects such as our support for publication of the revision of the genus ‘Phalenopsis: A Monograph’, by Dr. Eric A. Christenson.
